Character Filled Halloween Finds

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I have always loved figuring out what to dress up as and we always decorated growing up. Now that I live in a neighborhood known for their trick-or-treating, I get really into it! We have a Halloween Party every year (so we have people to help us hand out candy!) and I'm always on the hunt for fun Halloween items. I put together a list of some my favorite finds while searching the internet:

Rifle Paper Co. Cards | Target Jute Pumpkin and Pier 1 Sparkle Pumpkin Love of Character Hair Ties Social Manor Witch Silhouette | Big Lots Glitter Bottles | MacKenzie Child's Bowl
Love these festive Rifle Paper Co. cards to send out to friends and family during the Halloween season. I also think they could be cute framed and paired up with the cute witch silhouette picture from Social Manor. The Halloween Hair Ties are from my new hair tie collection and I think they are a perfect hostess, friend or family gift - small something to spread Halloween fun. Every Halloween party needs some kind of potion and these bottles from Big Lots would be a perfect way to serve the "potions." On the pumpkins, I love mixing the harder jute material with the sparkle - adds texture and character. Last, but definitely not least, your candy bowl. One of the most important pieces of Halloween decor. I love the black and white MacKenzie Child's pattern for Halloween. It's a costly candy bowl, but you can leave it out all year long!

Also, make sure you are checking out your local Target Dollar Spot and Dollar Tree stores if you need affordable or mass quantity decorations. I share another night all the goodies I've purchased!

Family Fiesta!

My little brother, Mikey, has been in town this week, and we wanted to have a family dinner to celebrate! I invited everyone over to my house, so they could see the updates (and so Mikey could see the house not as the frat house he made it!). We decided on Mexican food because who doesn't love enchiladas and guac (seriously, my mom and Steve's guacamole is to die for!). I of course, had to have fun serving pieces and glasses ready for the get together. In college, my friend Dana and I threw a Cinco de Mayo party and I had found these fab Margarita glasses that looked like the ones at our favorite Mexican restaurants - you know, the kind with the green cactus stems. Those were perfect for this shindig because we made our fam favorite Margaritas. We had bartender Mikey make them for us and somehow they are now called Mike-aritas! We use tequila, triple sec, Corona Lights and frozen limeade mix - so tasty! My cousin Kelly made delicious enchiladas and we of course munched on chips all night. Overall, the night was a fabulous success and the weather was gorgeous!

Love Spider Mums for an outdoor table. The fun citronella candles came from TJ Maxx (recently, so they might have more!) and I love my pink lighter from the Target Dollar Section!

Teddy loves a good party!

Chair cushions were also scores from TJ Maxx and Ross.
Pulled out my Oh Joy! for Target barware for the party & I love the pink flamingo sticks I found at Target in the Dollar Section. They recently changed up the Oh Joy! collection and I'm loving it!

Grandma's pies are seriously gorgeous and make for great party decoration! We had Key Lime and Chocolate - yes I had a piece of each!
Used my MacKenzie Child's and Annie Glass cake plates to hold the fabulous pies.
Used all of my wonderful and bright MacKenzie Child's Flower Market serving pieces!
Here are my fun Marg glasses I scored at the Dollar Tree - I think they have them every once and a while.
Table turned out fun and bright - perfect for a Family Fiesta! Placemats and paper plates are from Target.

Yes you are seeing a different pitcher - we had a lot of Margaritas going on :) This pitcher is Juliska and goes with my pottery - perfect for margs!
All of the Annie Glass, Juliska and MacKenzie Child's was purchased locally at my favorite store, The Plaid Giraffe. They are having their aMAZing birthday sale next Thursday - Friday, so make sure to go check it out!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Target's Done It Again...

My whole life, Target has been my favorite store. Ok that's a lie, I worked there for a few months in college and during that time it was not my favorite because I was there too much. But... BACK TO THE POINT...it is seriously such an awesome store because they have so many fun finds! Tonight my fab friend Hailey and I were there and stumbled across a very fun little party section: Oh Joy! for Target. As I was looking at it in aw, I remembered a fun pin I pinned on Pinterest:

All I could think was "Holy *bleep* that stuff came from Target!?" How cute is that table and you can get that fun bright stuff from Target! I of course had to get a couple items for a dinner party I now want to throw in honor of how cute it is.

In person these are so bright and fun! They will make the table and I think look so cute with my gold polka dot china. Plus, they are great plastic cups for outdoor drinks!

I had to get the emerald green pitcher....it is just so me!
I honestly wanted it all, but help myself back a little...mom if you are reading this, I would love some of those pieces in my Easter basket! Here are a couple more pictures shared from the Oh Joy! for Target party Oh Joy! featured on their blog:

I love their idea of using the cake letters in flowers.
Such a fun place setting.
Can't wait to put together a fun dinner party using these fabulous items! Of course I will share the pictures. Need some warmer weather to use the fun bright colors...

Outdoor Christmas Decorations

I know Christmas seems far away, but it is going to creep up on us quickly! Today Dustin and I were talking about what we should do for the outside of our house this year. It is our first Christmas here, so we are starting with a blank slate. Being a little worn out from Halloween, we were lacking ideas. Luckily, it was like my friend, Meg, could read my mind and pinned the perfect idea! We could put wreaths on our windows since we have the perfect symmetrical setup for that. I also love the idea of garland framing our front door.

After discussing with my mom, we decided to spice it up a little and use colored lights. Our neighborhood is perfect for fun festive lights, plus our house is white and needs a little color boost. The hard part with hanging wreaths on all the windows is the cost. We have nine (NINE!) windows and I was worried it would cost a fortune. Another lucky moment for the day, my mom and I were wandering around Target and found that their battery operated wreaths were on sale! At $15 a piece, they were a steal because ones I had found online were $40+. Plus, the battery pack has a timer on it. I also scored some garland on sale for our front door. If you are needing pre-lit garland or wreaths, buy them this week so you can score these prices! Both come in white and colored lights:

I know what you're thinking, those wreaths look plain. Well have no fear because my years helping my mom at The Plaid Giraffe taught me how to make some awesome bows! I found this great classic plaid ribbon at Target (plaid is hot this holiday season). I like buying a plain wreath because now I can change up the ribbon on it next season and give it a whole new look for $20.

Hopefully this gets your festive brain juices flowing and you can come up with some fun ideas for your casa. It is a great way to add some character to your home for the holidays!

Home for the Holidays - Target Style

Today I was at my favorite store, Target, and noticed they had some snazzy home decor for the holiday time. They have great items for this time of year when you want your house to feel more cozy and holiday-ish, but you don't want full on Christmas decorations out. I snagged the very cool pink Threshold glass accent tables for my mom and they were on sale - $41, steal! I bought two, so she could use them for a coffee table look in her back sitting area. The rest of these items are pieces I thought would be great for having guests over for a cocktail hour during this time of year. Whether it's a drink before going out, Thanksgiving, a Christmas party or just a fun girls night, you want your casa to have some holiday character! Get over to your closest Target or get online before these finds are ripped off the shelves:

1. Threshold Entertaining Collection 2. Threshold Mercury Glass Hurricane 3. Threshold Set of 3 Mirrors 4. Threshold Beverage Tub 5. Chalkboard Beverage Dispenser 6. Threshold Cocktail Shaker 7. Threshold Dotted Martini Glass 8. Threshold Green Serving Tray 9. Threshold™ Glass Faux Agate Accent Table

Office Update:
I think I found carpet that I really like from Jabara's Carpet Outlet - found it in the outlet stock rolls, so rock on price wise!
Went to Sherwin Williams today and picked out two colors to try out (The Posy they did 50% so it's lighter):

Lighter Mint
Posy
Let me know if you have thoughts! I wanted to find a shade that was almost white, but had a touch of color to it. Putting them on the walls, that is what they look like. I am leaning towards the barely there pink look because I think it would go with the wood work and give the room a little warmth. Trust me when I say it isn't going to look like a PINK room. It's a very light tint to add a little warmth to the walls. I also bought the chalkboard paint today, so that wall is happening!

Hopefully tomorrow I will get a little further on actually cleaning out the room.....dun dun dun!
