Happy Sunday!

Just wanted to wish you all a happy Sunday and give you a list of upcoming posts this week! We had a great weekend spending time with our parents - Doug & Brenda came down from Lawrence. Dinner and drinks at Ziggy's and Dempsey's was a fabulous way to spend our gorgeous Saturday night. Then today, we headed out to Menards to stock up on hardware goods while we had Doug the expert with us. If you are needing mulch and other items, head out there because they are having good deals! Our trip to Menards turned into great progress on our list of projects. Hence while I will have lots of fun blog posts coming up this week:

Kitchen Island
Powder Room Tile
Fireplace Face-lift

Can't wait to keep going on these projects and to share with you our progress. I also have been busy on some new hair ties for the shop:

Tell all the sorority girls you know, so they buy their letters! I put together lots of fun patterns and colors for these packs, so they would make a great gift for a sorority girl in your life.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! The weather here is gorgeous and I think we are going to go for a lovely walk with Mr. Tedders.

Brightened up my MacKenzie Tea Kettle with some gorgeous roses!

Mom's Office Reveal!

My mother and I are so excited to reveal her fabulous, new office! It is the perfect matching of feminine and grown-up. I'm so glad she finally lightened up her dark and boring office - office work is dull enough already! This morning we went on a mission to find the finishing touches and we major scored on some great pieces. Check them out...

Oh hello new office!

Mom spray painted the frame of this great home portrait - the gold on the Posy pink is perfect.

Today at Hobby Lobby we last minute stumbled upon these fun bulletin boards after we thought all hope was lost!

This amazing lamp was a total score from Target today - had to have!
Notice the cute Love of Character legal pads! These were some of the originals that inspired us to make some for the shop.
Desk is my childhood desk that she spray painted white - we might try to find something bigger, but it works for now.

Now she needs to get to work! It will definitely be more cheerful now that she has a gorgeous office. And seriously, that rug makes the room. We ordered that thing back on Christmas day because she fell in love. So fun to see everything finally come together!

Mom's Office Project: Paint

Quick update on my mom's office: paint is on the walls, so the hard part is over! She followed our office style and painted her walls the Sherwin Williams Posy (70% of the color - don't forget you ask them to use a percentage of the color). Also, if you decide to give this color a try, don't freak out that it's on a paint swatch with oranges and browns - I got a call from my concerned mother when she was buying the paint! If you don't know the level of color you want, remember that they can always add more. My mom originally had them put in 40% of the color and then went back to increase it to 70%.

I snapped a couple quick pictures when over at her house for family dinner to share with you all. This weekend we are going to work on putting it together with fun touches. We still need to figure out a larger desk situation and new light, but those will come with time.

Her rug really makes the space:

This Saturday when we get further on decorating, I will take more pictures using my camera. Excited to get to work on it!

Easter Basket with Hippity Hop!

Easter is a couple weeks away and the Easter bunny needs to get busy. There are lots of fun and affordable ways to put together a great Easter basket for your children, friends, mothers, anyone. I wanted to share a few of my favorite finds.

First off, the best place to get the base Easter pieces is the Dollar Tree. They have lots of different egg options, grass filler and classic style Easter baskets. Plus they have some fillers and Easter crafts...all for a $1! Find your nearest Dollar Tree and go check out all of their items (in store is better than online).

My favorites are the crystal shaped eggs:

If you want an Easter basket that lasts for many years to come, "invest" in something with a personal touch. Here are some adorable ones perfect for your little ones:

Love the simplicity of these baskets from Social Manor - could be used for things after Easter as well!

Pottery Barn Kids has lots of different options for fabric buckets and basket liners that you can have personalized.
These baskets from Paper Source make me smile - comes in blue & pink.

For fillers, I think crafts, games and useful items are the best! Crafts and games will keep the kids busy. Useful items can come in fun shapes and sizes. Starbucks cards, fun chapsticks, LOC hair ties and cute office supplies (pencils, markers, paper clips, note pads, etc.) are all great basket stuffers. Good candy is also a usual must - especially if it was given up for lent! To find fun stuffers check out Paper Source, Etsy, local craft stores and of course, Love of Character:

 Paper Source:
Easter Paper Dolls
Easter Jenga
Etsy:
Personalized Cups
Easter Peeps Shaped Soaps
Love of Character:
Hair Ties fit great in Easter eggs!
Legal Pads
If you still aren't sure what to get your older girls, click over to the shop and let us do the basket for you!

Little Update on the Little Box

Wanted to share some of the fun projects we have been working on for Love of Character and our fabulous customers! Aunt Mary and I have had so much fun coming up with new ideas, putting together boxes and working with our wonderful wholesalers.

The popular item thus far has definitely been the Little Box of Bachelorette Character, which is so fun to put together! If you know of anyone planning a bachelorette party, send them my way because we have some fun party favors and I work hard to make them special for the party.

If you order multiple boxes for a party, I always like to throw in a little extra for the bachelorette herself! This order I added an extra hair tie and a ring pop!
If you have your own items to use, you can always order Just the Little Box. I can also get you a quote on the boxes, plus a couple extras like the order above. If you are traveling, I can send the boxes flat and have the pieces organized for you, so you can travel easy and assemble when you get there!
A couple upcoming options for this box style include makeup wipes and ring pops! I will have them posted soon and the makeup wipes make for a good alternative to the water bottles if you are traveling.

I have also been busy with some custom boxes lately. It's fun to mix it up and help someone find a great gift for their particular need.

This baby box was such a hit, I'm working on something similar as a set item in the shop! Look for it soon.
Recently a fellow Junior League member and blogger asked me to do a special box for her friend battling cancer. She told me she wanted something that would brighten her day and that she loved wine, yoga and collecting pictures that made her smile. I absolutely loved putting together this box! I thought the Rifle Paper Co. coasters would make her smile and be perfect for wine. The fun leather photo envelope I happened to have is perfect to hold her pictures and since she isn't going through chemo, she can use the headbands for yoga. We added a cute notepad and glitter pencil, plus my friend had a movie giftcard to add to the box (had to put it in a cute envelope!). Hopefully it brightens her day and reminds her of happy things!
Future boxes to come: Smaller sized! They will be perfect for party favors, wedding guest favors/welcome boxes and others. We are even working on a box idea for new puppies!

Outside of the boxes, we have had other great items I would love for you all to check out!

New prints from Make Things Co. - three different fashionable ladies added to the site!

We also added a new line, Designs by Nicolina:

We also are constantly adding fun items to the paper good section, plus there is more to come! Be on the look out for some adorable coasters this weekend!

How cute is this journal!
We are loving our little business and are excited to see it grow! Please keep us in mind next time you need a cute gift, fun notepad, pretty card or some oh la la party supplies! Also, please reach out to us if you have something particular in mind you would like us to offer.

Thanks again for all of your support!

Lots of Love,
