Happy Sunday!

Just wanted to wish you all a happy Sunday and give you a list of upcoming posts this week! We had a great weekend spending time with our parents - Doug & Brenda came down from Lawrence. Dinner and drinks at Ziggy's and Dempsey's was a fabulous way to spend our gorgeous Saturday night. Then today, we headed out to Menards to stock up on hardware goods while we had Doug the expert with us. If you are needing mulch and other items, head out there because they are having good deals! Our trip to Menards turned into great progress on our list of projects. Hence while I will have lots of fun blog posts coming up this week:

Kitchen Island
Powder Room Tile
Fireplace Face-lift

Can't wait to keep going on these projects and to share with you our progress. I also have been busy on some new hair ties for the shop:

Tell all the sorority girls you know, so they buy their letters! I put together lots of fun patterns and colors for these packs, so they would make a great gift for a sorority girl in your life.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! The weather here is gorgeous and I think we are going to go for a lovely walk with Mr. Tedders.

Brightened up my MacKenzie Tea Kettle with some gorgeous roses!

Easter Basket with Hippity Hop!

Easter is a couple weeks away and the Easter bunny needs to get busy. There are lots of fun and affordable ways to put together a great Easter basket for your children, friends, mothers, anyone. I wanted to share a few of my favorite finds.

First off, the best place to get the base Easter pieces is the Dollar Tree. They have lots of different egg options, grass filler and classic style Easter baskets. Plus they have some fillers and Easter crafts...all for a $1! Find your nearest Dollar Tree and go check out all of their items (in store is better than online).

My favorites are the crystal shaped eggs:

If you want an Easter basket that lasts for many years to come, "invest" in something with a personal touch. Here are some adorable ones perfect for your little ones:

Love the simplicity of these baskets from Social Manor - could be used for things after Easter as well!

Pottery Barn Kids has lots of different options for fabric buckets and basket liners that you can have personalized.
These baskets from Paper Source make me smile - comes in blue & pink.

For fillers, I think crafts, games and useful items are the best! Crafts and games will keep the kids busy. Useful items can come in fun shapes and sizes. Starbucks cards, fun chapsticks, LOC hair ties and cute office supplies (pencils, markers, paper clips, note pads, etc.) are all great basket stuffers. Good candy is also a usual must - especially if it was given up for lent! To find fun stuffers check out Paper Source, Etsy, local craft stores and of course, Love of Character:

 Paper Source:
Easter Paper Dolls
Easter Jenga
Etsy:
Personalized Cups
Easter Peeps Shaped Soaps
Love of Character:
Hair Ties fit great in Easter eggs!
Legal Pads
If you still aren't sure what to get your older girls, click over to the shop and let us do the basket for you!

LOC Valentine Launch Party!

Last night I had the BEST time celebrating Valentine's & www.loveofcharacter.com Launch with lots of my favorite ladies! It was a night filled with champagne, chatting, cheese & Valentine making - combination was a great one. I took tons of pictures of the setup, so I'm going to let those do the talking...enjoy!

Valentine Making Station!

Bought a full sized flat sheet at Target for $10 and painted X's & O's on it with Martha Stewart's Gold Metallic Acrylic Paint - thank Amy Johnson pinning the idea!

Crafting supplies were mostly from Target Dollar Section (the best!) & Michael's (score some on sale).

My acrylic tape dispenser from Social Manor was a necessity at the table!

Product display in the sun room! You can purchase all of these items at www.loveofcharacter.com!
Loved using my gold urchin from Social Manor to display the adorable Make Things Co. cards!

Tasty sweets from Fresh Market (because this girl did not have time to bake!) and adorable mini flower bunch from my Whole Foods that my wonderful friend Ryan brought me! My reindeer got a valentine make over and I love it!

Purchased this pearl garland in The Plaid Giraffe's Christmas sale and I couldn't wait until next year to use it!

Bar cart Valentine style! Loved the cheap option of bunching carnations together for a pop of color.

Found adorable plates, napkins & straws in the Target dollar section this year. Plus, everyone got a little hair tie party favor!

Probably one of my favorite decorations - Giant LOVE balloons! Ordered from Amazon and had them blown up at Dillons for $.99 each.
Heart balloons are a favorite score from The Dollar Tree.
My amazing aunt & business partner got me these gorgeous Valentine flowers from The Plaid Giraffe - get your Valentine orders in soon people!

I obviously love serving cheese items at my parties - picked up some Take & Bake Bries from Fresh Market and my mom found these adorable heart lavosh crackers at Dillons - I melted Havarti cheese on top.
Thank you to everyone who came by, everyone who brought a sweet note, bottle of wine or flowers - you all are beyond too nice to me. Your support has made this adventure a fun one!

Balloon pic of the night was needed - Amy Johnson, Paige Gade, Amy Hopper & me.

Need a Mail Easy Gift Idea?

Do you ever want to send your friends or family a little something in the mail for their birthday, a congrats or a just because? It can be hard to find something that is cute and fits in an envelope (that isn't a gift card). Well, I'm here to share my favorite and help you send them!

Viola! How fun would it be to get some cute hair ties and an adorable card by Make Things Co. in your mailbox? Need to send a congrats to a friend that just got engaged?

The newly posted "You're Tying the Knot!" hair tie pack plus a Cheers! card by Make Things Co. would be a great little congrats.

To make things even easier on your, I can put it all together! If you purchase a pack of hair ties and a greeting card, I will put them together, write your greeting and ship it off to your recipient. Also, for a limited time, I will even pay for your shipping! Use the code PKGDEAL & the $2 shipping cost will be waived. When you check out, make sure to fill out the gift options section on the cart page - it will send me your greeting to put in the card.

Obviously, I will use my best handwriting and make the envelope adorable, I promise! Now think of someone you want to send snail mail to and get to ordering!

Lots of Love,

Happy Launch Day!

Morning sunshines! It is officially website launch day and I'm so giddy with excitement. The website is out there and ready for your orders. I hope you stumble upon something that makes you smile and you want for yourself or someone you know! You can click on the "Shop" tab above for a quick shortcut over to the store.

One of my favorite new things for the Love of Character shop is the Valentine Box! Plus, there is one out there for your single & fabulous friends, comes with a boyfriend and all! If you are wanting a fun little something for a friend, daughter, cousin, etc., head over to the shop and send one their way...

Little Box of Valentine Character

Little Box of Single & Fabulous Character
I also have some new hair accessories added to the collection - don't forget to sign up for the hair tie raffle! Today is the last day!

Outside of all of the fun pieces that I have put together for the shop, I have some amazing pieces coming from my creative Aunt Mary: journals, notepads & guestbooks! You'll want one to brighten up your desk. In other exciting news, I have been working with other fellow Etsy artists on some wholesale deals and I should have some adorable greeting cards and art prints added to the shop in the next few weeks - so excited for these!

By the way for local friends shopping on the website - if you are local in Wichita, KS and would like to arrange a pickup for your order, contact us after you make your order and we can try to set something up. Shipping costs will then be returned. Added that to the shop policies today because I know some of you would be happy to just pick up your order directly from me.

I really just want to add some character to your everyday life and help you find unique gifts that can make someone smile. You will have to continually check back (hint: sign up for e-mails!) to see all of the fun items we will be adding to the shop. Any requests? Let me know! Also, hope you like the new look of the blog. It's a work in progress, but I wanted some coordination between the shop and the blog! Thank you to all of my followers, friends and family who encouraged, edited and believed in me! Special shout out to my business partner, Aunt Mary! Wouldn't be following my resolution without ya'll's support...

Happy launch day www.loveofcharacter.com!!!

Lots of Love,
