Valentine Cupcake Party with Matilda Jane

We teamed up with Sally Cavanaugh, Wichita Matilda Jane truck keeper, again this year to put together an adorable Valentine party. Last year our little party guests decorated cookies, and this year we decided to decorate cupcakes. Each party guest received a cute MJ apron to wear during the party, and to take home as a party favor. Love a good party favor!

We went all out pink with the event and used the adorable door wrapping sheets as inspiration. The door pattern reminded me of the song from Frozen, “Love is an Open Door.” Seemed fitting for Valentine’s! For the place settings, we actually pulled some plates from our Easter collection. The pink gingham went so well with the paper and it gave a cute kitchen/baking feel to the tables. We paired them with die cut heart napkins and heart cups.  For the backdrop, we used the gorgeous new backdrop I had local maker, Liv from Liv+Work, create. I love the dyed pink ombré look!

Mini cupcakes worked perfectly because they gave the children multiple to decorate, and if they ate them, at east they were small! Cara, owner of September Moon Cupcakery, made pink and white cupcakes and provided bags of icing. We picked up some fun sprinkles that they could top them off with. Dessert decorating is always a kid favorite!

In addition to the cupcakes, we provided Valentine making supplies. I love setting out all kinds of craft supplies and seeing what children create. They had fun and were able to make cute cards, drawings and scribbles for their loved ones.

It was such a fun morning, and I always love working with Sally! Thank you for providing the aprons and capturing the memories.

Superhero Valentine Making

Superheroes, cookies, and valentines make for the perfect date with kids! The day before Valentine's Day, we hosted a kids' event as a thank you for a fun Valentine's season.  We pulled one of our adorable superhero kits, and setup some tables for them to get crafting.

How perfect is this jacket!

The kids had fun putting together their superheroes. I love letting kids craft away and see how they put things together. This kit was fairly easy, so most could handle putting them together on their own. Love a good glue stick craft, especially when it's not at your house!

Nothing like a paper superhero to entertain your kids for thirty minutes!

We sweetened the afternoon with cookies from our favorite, Sweet Sugarlicious. She created amazing pop art prints on top of heart cookies to tie in the Valentine aspect. Will someone please let us help you have a superhero party! These cookies, with our supplies are such a good combo.

Thank you to everyone that stopped by! Also, thank you so much to Erin and Ashli for capturing your kids having fun crafting at the shop - love that they had fun!

Winter Onederland

Photos via Allie Burns Photography
I thought this snowy day would be the perfect time to share this dreamy Winter ONEderland party with you all. Cozy up and float away into a snowy wonderland with these gorgeous photos taken by Allie Burns Photography. Sweet Nora turned one and we were so happy to help her celebrate!

The decor was very light and airy. Becky wanted pretty, but simple. She brought in curtains, pictures, cute banners, balloons, and fake snow. We set it all out and the winter wonderland was brought to life. You can keep this theme fairly simple, and it will still look elegant and put together (yay for easy birthday themes!). Our white tables, chairs and clear kid chairs were a great backdrop for the snowy feel.

For this sweet afternoon party, party mom, Becky, ordered mini cupcakes from a shop favorite September Moon Cupcakery. Cara, the baker/owner, always does such a beautiful job! These were no exception. The white chocolate snowflakes on top of pink icing were winter wonderland perfection. Nora had a pink smash cake and she was a very polite "smasher" to start.

Doesn't get much better than that little smirk! We love helping little ones celebrate their first birthdays. It's always so much fun to see family and friends get together to "Oh" & "Awe" over their little babies growing up (way too fast!). If you have a birthday coming up and don't want to cram everyone into your home, let us know! We would love to host you at LOC.

Lots of Love,
