Jolly Holiday with Elizabeth Mae

My baby is THREE! I cannot believe it. To celebrate the occasion, we decided to have a family party (Covid year). I wasn't going to do much for her party, but when she chose Mary Poppins as her theme, I started having way too much fun coming up with ideas. The costume company we carry at the shop has that adorable Jolly Holiday dress she's wearing, so we went with that part of the movie as our inspiration! Love the colors and joy in that scene. The morning was captured by my talented friend Alison Moore

We worked with our local gardens, Botanica, to host the party in the Carousel Pavilion. At the shop, we help them on random projects throughout the year and they wanted pictures to promote events when they start hosting again next year. Elizabeth LOVES the carousel, so it was such a fun spot. The girls rode the carousel so many times - highly recommend! For the invitations, I used an adorable Mary Poppins clip art I found and played with a font that reminded me of the movie. I went for color this year on the decor and balloons, pastels with pops of bold colors. I found the Golden Books banner from the cutest Etsy shop - I have always tried to incorporate books into her parties, so this was a perfect touch. My shirt was also found on Etsy, I wanted a fun way to add Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to the party! Fancy horses, London houses and little rose plates were the perfect table settings for the occasion. You can find all of those at Love of Character!

Treats, I used my go to local gals - cupcakes by September Moon Cupcakery, cookies by Sweet Sugarlicious. They nailed it with the designs - those little spoons filled with sugar! We also picked up some birthday cake popcorn from The Popcorner. We didn't serve food since it was late morning and just family. For party favors, my mom helped me put together cute bags of penguin gummies from the shop and we added these adorable tags from Etsy. I also purchased some carousel tokens for the kids to use the next time they visit and called them "Tuppence" to reference the movie.

It was such a magical morning bringing her Mary Poppins dreams to life. I loved having something fun and happy to plan this crazy year. Thank you so much to our families for joining in on the celebration.

Now, if anyone has tips for sassy three year olds, send them my way!

Rifle Paper Baby Shower

A couple of months ago my friend, Hailey, and I threw a baby shower for mama to be, Rachel. Her nursery was Rifle Paper Co. inspired, so we went all out Rifle Paper with her shower, which I of course loved doing! It was hosted in our 3202 white wall space, so we let the tableware and seating area be the pops of color. Celebrating a friends baby is always a special occasion and we wanted it to be fun for her!

Invitations were designed in house. We started doing more of our own invitations and I was excited to work on these. To give it an extra touch, I lined the enveloped with Rifle Paper wrapping paper from the shop.

This garden party table was planned using our Set the Party table planning feature. Rachel's favorite color is navy, so I mixed in these new china inspired dinner plates we carry. They are classic and elegant, which was a good anchor piece to the busy floral patterns. I wanted to share this setup this week because it's great Mother's Day inspiration, especially since a lot of us will be spending it at home. You can easily click the link above to shop this table or recreate your own!

Desserts were ordered from my go to ladies Sweet Sugarlicious  and September Moon Cupcakery (make sure to check out her wonderful new website!). Flower cookie & cupcake designs are always a favorite!

Fun balloons were a must for the shower, and I wanted it to have a floral vibe. With help from event coordinator, Emily, we created a garland inspired by the Garden Party collection we used on the tables. I loved the lemons mixed in and balloon daisies are always a fun touch. For the food area, we covered the wall in white balloon daisies to give the shower a whimsical touch.

One of the party guests planned a shower game that involved mini escape room like boxes. She had special codes based on different baby items. Inside the boxes were prizes for the new mom-to-be. It was cute and simple, plus fun for the guests to work together.

It was a fun afternoon celebrating Rachel and baby Claire (who recently arrived and is beyond adorable!). This theme works well for many occasions, baby showers to wedding showers and garden parties. During this time, use it to brighten up occasions at home like celebrating your mom this weekend, backyard dinners and at home birthday parties.

Hope this setup brightened your day!

Galentines Play Date

Yesterday we turned Elizabeth's play date into a mini Valentine's photo shoot, and it was such a fun time! Wendi, owner and mastermind behind Sweet Sugarlicious, wanted pictures of the adorable cookies she's using for an upcoming workshop. We used her designs as the inspiration and set a table full of color. Shout out to Elizabeth's friends (and of course their mamas!) for playing along and being apart of this fun afternoon at the last minute. One of the mom's, Brooke, took the gorgeous pictures. She has an amazing fashion and lifestyle blog, The Broke Brooke, that you need to go check out stat!

We have so many great Valentine party supplies this year and these doodle hearts are such a fun, versatile option. I immediately thought of them when Wendi sent over her cookie designs. We layered the small heart plates on top of large pink plates and mixed them with fringe and heart napkins. A pink striped table runner added color to the table and we added some festive confetti on top. These festive sweet talker cups were the perfect party favors for the girls. It just so happened that both of her friends were celebrating their birthdays! Needed to have something fun to take home.

These little ladies were so cute together and when we got them to "cheers" they were having too much fun. Let's just say, if you give party girls cookies, they will smile and pose away - with a cookie in hand of course!

We would love to be apart of your Valentine events/parties! We have so many fun products and accessories to make it a special occasion for you. I highly recommend getting a group of littles together and letting them have a cookie party - just be ready for the post sugar high - ha! Stop in or shop online party supplies, gifts, cards and more. If you want to add balloons to your event (like the giant wink balloon in this shoot) or send balloons to a loved one, email balloons@loveofcharacter.com to get on our calendar before it fills up!
