Bachelorette Weekend Getaway

This past weekend, a group of friends and I headed to Denver to celebrate our friend's last fling before the ring! The maid of honor, Paige, reached out wanting some fun items to decorate with and of course I wanted to help. I sent lots of fun options her way and she picked some favorites that we shipped off to Colorado. The bride, Amy, is a good friend and we wanted to make it a special weekend away!

We stayed in a modern Airbnb in a fun neighborhood in Denver. The main floor was open and great for setting up our bachelorette scene. When you are setting up in a hotel or Airbnb, it is good to find a shelf or desk to use for your decorations. If you only have items to hang, you can always do that above a sitting area if you have one in the room (see past blog post for hotel setup). Paige picked out some of our new tissue tassel garland to match with a fun gold letter banner. The new tassel banners are great are great because they become pre-made and are easy to use right away. I added some pink confetti for a party look and wanted to try out one of our new "party" script holographic balloons. It all came together and set a fun party mood!

Amy's other maid of honor, Leah, collected pictures from everyone and had them printed to be hung up. People sent in cute and funny pictures and we hung them on ribbons with clothes hangers. Worried about the weight of the pictures, we figured they wouldn't stay up if we strung them up horizontally, so Paige had the great idea of doing them vertically down the down. We were able to tape on the other side and close the door to help keep them up. For an entertaining activity, we brought a gold diamond pinata and filled it with candies and bath bombs for the girls. Love a good decoration that is also a game.

I wanted to do something fun for the weekend and the bride, so I told Paige I would put together hangover kits for the party girls. Always a good "thanks for coming" gift with needed supplies for the weekend. I decided to use cute gift bags I had this time instead of boxes, since I needed to ship them with other decor supplies. In the bags, I added a couple of our new "Bride Tribe" tattoos, sunscreen, Advil, hair ties, Sugarfina Champagne Bubble Bears and Wine Wipes. For the bride, I threw in a Bling Wipe.

Bar items are important for a Bachelorette party, especially if you are staying in a hotel where there aren't a lot of glasses. With Airbnbs, you usually are lucky enough to have glasses, but it's still fun to have party cups! Paige picked our color-changing cups, so the guests would have a fun party favor for the weekend. She also picked up some fun drink stirrers and I threw in some fun straws that coordinated with the banner. Also, try to remember a way to mark the cups, so people don't get them mixed up.

Overall, it was a great weekend! Amy was spoiled with fun gifts at her lingerie shower and we all loved getting together to celebrate the bride. Couple Denver recommendations if you are going to the area for a Bachelorette getaway: Ophelia's and Avanti F&B.

Party Crashing - Bachelorette Party in the Desert!

A couple months ago I shared these colorful invitation boxes for a friend's bachelorette weekend (find details here) and a couple weeks ago we finally had the fabulous party! Ryan, the bride-to-be, is getting married tomorrow, so I felt it was an appropriate time to share the adorable decorations from her last fling before the ring.

Ryan's little sister and MOH, Quinn, did an aMAZing job planning and getting setup for the weekend. We had so much fun and went to some fab places. The decorations were adorable and I already offered her a gig if she gets tired of nursing :) The flamingo ring game we spotted on Sugar & Cloth's Instagram and thought it would be perfect with some diamonds on the rings. Definitely something I'm going to keep in mind for the future. I loved her strands of pom poms she put with the glitter Bachelorette sign and her sparkly confetti was fun on the gift table. Also, her fiesta touches added the extra touches of color needed to decorate the rented house. The koozies and sash were actually designed and drawn out by me. I have some more of the koozies that I will be posting in the shop soon and I'm also going to have a custom option available. The sash, I worked on with a friend who is a graphic designer with mad printing skills. Firming up a couple details and then we will also get those added to the shop!

It was such a fun weekend and I cannot wait to celebrate the big day tomorrow! Ryan and I have known each other since 2nd grade and I'm so happy she found the love of her life. How did we grow up so fast!? Had to share a couple funny kid pictures before sharing the fun bachelorette all grown up!

Desert Bachelorette Party Invites

Over the past couple months I have been working with a fabulously fun Maid of Honor who wants to make her sister's bachelorette party the best last fling before the ring. To kick off the event, she wanted to invite the small group of girls in a special way. That's where Love of Character got pulled in! Why not get everyone excited for a weekend in the desert by sending pink boxes full of goodies?

We messaged each other back and forth brainstorming ideas and I had so much fun interpreting the ideas! It boiled down to finding the perfect blend of Scottsdale, desert and bachelorette components. First item on the agenda that the MOH and I both immediately thought of: mini cactus! These actually ended up being tricky to track down, but when I stumbled upon them I hit the jackpot:

To match our gorgeous cacti, I remember seeing some perfect cactus elastic to make hair ties that meshed perfectly with our look.

From there, the other items started coming into place. Party in the desert? Calls for margaritas! Need some humor? Add some fun nail polishes with a hilarious saying. Girls need a good munchie, popcorn it is! The invitations were coming together. The most important piece was next, the invitation itself! I loved the idea of lining the top of the box with a gorgeous paper I found. The minute I saw it, I got the party in the desert vibe. Since the box had a lot of character included, I decided to keep the invitation simple. The MOH wanted to give a glimpse of the details and I added a touch of gold to make it pop. For the lingerie sizes, I decided it would be fun to add a little pair of paper undies to the box and included the details on the back:

End result, a fiesta filled bachelorette invite with pops of pink!

Such a fun project and was so excited for the group of girls to receive their little pink boxes! The party is coming up next month and I will make sure to follow up with our festive details. The MOH has planned some amazing activities and we have some more up our sleeve for decoration details.

Party Crashing: Viva Las Bachelorette Party!

When one thinks of a bachelorette party, Las Vegas tends to come to mind! Well these fun girls lived it up right. A couple months ago I got an order from a fun and fabulous girl who wanted some boxes to give as favors at a Viva Las Vegas Bachelorette Party. She said bright, loud and neon, so I took that and rolled with it. 

I love putting together boxes for a bachelorette party because the boxes come with fun items like confetti and hair ties, as well as essentials such as water and Advil. I always try to match up with the theme if it is shared and Viva was a great one to live up to.

These boxes were shipped off and ready for a party! This bride-to-be and her posse definitely lived up to that expectation. They setup a great hotel room and looks like the girls were excited for their goodies. Plus the bachelorette herself had this fabulous floral light up crown to rock all night - so jealous! 

One of my favorite things about the Little Box of Bachelorette Character is that it can double as a party decoration. You get a lot of little pink boxes and viola! pop of color to your decor!

Turns a plain hotel room into a bachelorette paradise! Another fun item in the box is the confetti pop and these girls weren't messing around when they went to pop them! Why not watch the Bellagio fountains and coordinate your moves by showering confetti? Definitely adds an element of sparkle to your evening...
