Mini Spa Day

Our annual Valentine party with Sally Cavanaugh had a little twist this year - spa day! Instead of the usual aprons, she found adorable Matilda Jane robes and we ran with the fun theme. We decided the best way to do the party this year, was multiple micro sized groups. It ended up being such a fun morning for all the littles, being pampered and all! Sally captured the event beautifully in these pictures.

The setup was inspired by some cute eye mask napkins one of our brands carries - perfect for a kid or adult spa day! We added some cute heart confetti to tie in Valentines. Cookies by Sweet Sugarlicious added to the spa theme - they were perfect! The backdrop, we made a large eye mask from balloons to match the napkins. The cute A frame tent is Elizabeth's I brought from home, love a tent setup for a girls' day. Babe Cave pillow is hers, and we have carried in the shop before, trying to get more.

Activities for the micro parties included Valentine making and nail painting. Piggy Paint is a kid friendly nail polish brand we started carrying in the shop, and I was excited to use it at the event. They made for a great activity and party favor. I pulled sets that come with nail stickers, so then they were able to add some fun flair to their fancy fingers.

After hosting these events, we started brainstorming on how to work back in event rentals at the shop. Safety and easing back into it were the main goals, and these micro spa events were such a success, we decided that would be our start! Our event documents are in final edits and we will be sharing more this week. We will be renting out our 3202 space for the next couple months to host micro parties for 6 children and we will take care of everything for you! We will also offer a micro shower option, perfect for a small group of friends and/or digital showers. Make sure you are following us on social media for updates and we will be updating our event page with new event documents soon!

Out of this World Photo Shoot

Our new space party collections are out of this world, and we were so excited to work with Sally Cavanaugh on this photo shoot to show them off! We have so many fun supplies in stock, it was hard to choose. Space is going to be a big theme this year. Hopefully this shoot gives you some creative ideas, and also convinces you to purchase a ticket to our space event at the end of the month! More details further down on that.

To bring the galaxy look to life, we picked a few items from our space collections. The space plates paired with the cosmic napkins, were a good contrasting mix. Shiny rocket cups were the perfect addition and added some height. To top off the table, we threw on some festive galaxy confetti - easy way to add color and pattern! The centerpiece is actually the star night light my husband got for shop baby lol, and she was nice enough to lend to us. You can shop our space supplies here.

Party supplies aren't the only space related items we have in the shop! We have cards, art supplies, and gifts. Plus, our Rebel Girls books have some motivational stories about women involved in past space projects and adventures - great book full of amazing one page stories for your kids and you!

The backdrop brought our galaxy vision to life. The base black color was created with rolls of bulletin board paper. We then added glittery stars all over to give shimmers of color. We worked with Qualatex to brainstorm fun, doable ideas. The balloon planets were a combination of color and marble balloons, making an awesome planet look. The giant earth balloon was a hit with the kids; helped that we had a second for them to play with! To frame our little galaxy, we made a black star balloon garland. Both the planet and garland balloons, we can special order for you. In the center of everything, we added our new rocket balloon blasting through the sky!

I knew Wendi with Sweet Sugarlicious would create the perfect cookies. The earth and galaxy patterns she created were magical!

Want in on the cosmic fun?! We have a space event coming up, and it's for a good cause! "Let's Knock Cancer Outta this World" will be in partnership with Sally's LLS Woman of the Year campaign, and all of the ticket sales will be donated - good times and a good cause, #winwin! Plus, the boy & girl of the year will be there to party with everyone. You can find more details on the Facebook event page, and tickets will be going on sale THIS THURSDAY APRIL 12TH @ 8:30PM. We hope you can join us! If not, but still want to contribute, head over to Sally's page.

Thank you to our adorable little astronauts, Sally for capturing the moments, and the LOC team for helping pull it all together!

Valentine Cupcake Party with Matilda Jane

We teamed up with Sally Cavanaugh, Wichita Matilda Jane truck keeper, again this year to put together an adorable Valentine party. Last year our little party guests decorated cookies, and this year we decided to decorate cupcakes. Each party guest received a cute MJ apron to wear during the party, and to take home as a party favor. Love a good party favor!

We went all out pink with the event and used the adorable door wrapping sheets as inspiration. The door pattern reminded me of the song from Frozen, “Love is an Open Door.” Seemed fitting for Valentine’s! For the place settings, we actually pulled some plates from our Easter collection. The pink gingham went so well with the paper and it gave a cute kitchen/baking feel to the tables. We paired them with die cut heart napkins and heart cups.  For the backdrop, we used the gorgeous new backdrop I had local maker, Liv from Liv+Work, create. I love the dyed pink ombré look!

Mini cupcakes worked perfectly because they gave the children multiple to decorate, and if they ate them, at east they were small! Cara, owner of September Moon Cupcakery, made pink and white cupcakes and provided bags of icing. We picked up some fun sprinkles that they could top them off with. Dessert decorating is always a kid favorite!

In addition to the cupcakes, we provided Valentine making supplies. I love setting out all kinds of craft supplies and seeing what children create. They had fun and were able to make cute cards, drawings and scribbles for their loved ones.

It was such a fun morning, and I always love working with Sally! Thank you for providing the aprons and capturing the memories.

Lots of Love,
