2nd Birthday Carnival

A couple of weeks ago, we hosted a carnival for an adorable birthday girl! My friend Patty's daughter turned two and that mama had the best time planning her daughter's soiree. She had the vision of a pastel carnival and it all came together so well. Thank you Deidre Caswell for capturing the party! Now to share way too many fun pictures...

If you can't tell Patty and the birthday girl, Eloise, LOVE balloons. They were all over this party and made it so whimsical. Patty worked on the table bundles and a couple garlands at home, while we helped with the giant wall piece and added to the food stand balloons. Pastel paradise in there!

Speaking of food stands - how incredibly adorable are these stands? Eloise's grandpa built them and Patty decorated them with printed artwork. They brought the carnival look to life! Plus she had delicious food stations setup on them. If your local and wanting to use, I'm sure you can reach out to her!

Talk about dream party food - Patty thought of all the carnival favorites from corn dogs to cotton candy! She even had perfect cake stands that fit the theme. She didn't miss one detail with this event. For an easy activity, children decorated mini bunt cakes - my child definitely just kept loading up with frosting ha! September Moon Cupcakery made the beautiful cupcakes and mini cake, topped with a glitter 2.

Across from the food stalls, Patty setup an adorable carnival games area. She had bag toss, mini bowling and knock the cans over. Of course they all coordinated with her pastel dreamland and a large circus backdrop added some color to the area, plus made for a cute picture backdrop.

What a fun afternoon soiree and I'm so glad my little one got to join in the fun to celebrate her friend! Patty did an incredible job bringing her vision to life and we were glad to be apart of the fun.

I have a feeling circus/carnival theme will be a big one this year! You can shop this party's cute table settings by clicking here for the Set the Party table. You can also check out our new circus items here.

Over the Rainbow Event with Daydream Society

When Mary Kevin, owner of Daydream Society partyware line, said she was coming through town, I knew we needed to throw a kid event! What's better for a trip to Kansas than an Over the Rainbow Dorothy party? We used their pretty pastel rainbow collection as our inspiration and ran with it. Basically, rainbows were everywhere! Major shout out to my friend Alison Moore who captured the event with her dreamy photos.

Obviously for the table settings, we used the Over the Rainbow collection. I decided to mix in the Frenchie Stripe napkins to mix it up and we matched it with a mermaid confetti pack. The rainbow cups we ended up using for the craft. I love the colors in this rainbow, plus the sparkly holographic clouds add such a fun touch.

We worked with local dessert wizards Sweet Sugarlicious and Buckingham Cakes to create rainbow sweets. Wendi made rainbows, clouds and spelled out "rainbow" with cookies that matched the tableware perfectly. The cookie pops were a crowd pleaser and Lisa put the cutest rainbows on top with sprinkle clouds. We love when the treats have a dual purpose and are great decor as well as delicious.

Kids painted wooden rainbow block stackers as their craft at the party. We stuck with washable crayola paints just in case they got extra creative. I love that it's a craft and a fun toy for them to take home and use. We now carry the wooden rainbows in the shop, ready to be decorated! Mary Kevin brought coordinating rainbow coloring sheets and setup her adorable tattoo bar. Kids were able to pick out the tattoo of their choosing from the Daydream collection. They are some of our favorite tattoos - vibrant colors and metallic accents. We loved the tattoo bar so much, we are setting up our own in the shop! Coming soon - bring the kids in for a tattoo on the spot, we are starting with the Daydream Society collection and there are great choices for kids and adults!

The backdrop was my favorite part. I told the shop girls I wanted to recreate the plates and they created this amazing balloon rainbow! The colors matched perfectly and the pastels made a pretty soft photo backdrop. Thanks to our friends at Kansas Dance Academy, we had the perfect Dorothy for our event. We borrowed a dress from Ballet Wichita and I loved that it had a fun twist like our event. Plus the pale blue matched the backdrop well. My little shop baby dressed as Glenda the Good Witch and rocked her adorable fairy wings and birthday crown from the shop (it's a "one" crown that I turned around). We loved seeing all the party guests in their Wizard of Oz inspired looks!

Set the Party - Wedding Inspired

Our spring intern, Sarah, put together a beautiful, wedding inspired photo shoot and we are excited to share all the details with you. Plus, we want to show you how you can use our new website feature, Set the Party, to make your table planning fun and easy! Sarah loved the idea of setting a table that could work for showers and receptions using pretty paper goods.

After putting together some mood boards, she pulled the deep teal plates as her base for the table. They mix so well with light colors and helps them pop, especially against our white tables. Using Set the Party, you can play with mixes of plates, napkins, cups, flatware and table cover to see what works before you buy. Sarah used the same items for each place setting, except added two different salad plates for a fun touch. Since it was the end of spring, Sarah brought some gorgeous peonies and greenery from her home garden. Obviously we aren't all that lucky to have flowers to pick, so I chose this fun gold marble runner as another option. It's fun seeing a digital build come to life!

We of course had to add a balloon garland to the setup, and these colors are dreamy for a wedding or shower. Adding greenery adds an elegant touch and tied in the flowers on the table. Sarah did a great job bringing her vision to life. She headed off to Seattle to work for a boutique hotel chain after graduation, and we miss having her around!

What event do you have coming up? You can easily switch out the pink plates for something with a holiday element or color and this would be a gorgeous (and easy to clean) dinner table for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
