Mermaid Sea Soriee

Mermaid is a party theme that is here to stay. It's fun, colorful and most little girls love mermaids - I mean I did and that was many moons ago. When a friend of mine reached out about throwing a mermaid birthday party for her adorable daughter at the shop, I was excited to put a new spin on this popular theme! Who doesn't love going under the sea for a morning?

Emily, the birthday girl's mom, did a great job mixing and matching our mermaid supplies! Love the iridescent mixed in; such a fun combo and adds a magical, under the sea feel. We covered the center of each table with a mermaid confetti mix - it also had flecks of iridescent. Confetti is a great way to add color to your table and we have lots of fun options. Emily ordered some adorable personalized napkins in a light purple that matched the supplies well and pulled out the purple accents of the supplies.

Activities at a five year old's are very important in order to keep the little guests entertained. We used a couple classics here - decorating treasure chests, making treasure jewelry, and decorating pirate treasure maps. Michael's has the best option for wooden treasure chests. They also had a bag of sea creature beads that fit well with the theme (purchase these in store). The pirate maps and patches for the boy guests were purchased from Hobby Lobby. To add some color to the craft table, we used leftover mermaid scales from a past mermaid party. They also had a fun pinata that was filled with take home party favors for the guests.

For the backdrop, we went with the seaweed and sea creature look. It is easy, affordable, and so fun for a little girl's birthday party. We purchased green streamers from The Dollar Tree, taped at the bottom and then twisted up at different heights. We cut out fish, sea horses and starfish silhouettes from shiny papers. It was topped off with a mermaid balloon ordered through the shop - the purple hair was perfect with our color scheme!

Emily put together the cutest food spread for this party! It was around lunchtime, so she wanted to serve sandwiches and sides. She got food crafty, and added fun touches to kid favorites. Crab sandwiches, octopus veggie tray, and mermaid fruit skewers made up the delicious spread. For the cake, she ordered one with a pretty color theme that coordinated the supplies - love that Ariel like silhouette!

We always love helping Emily pull off pretty parties for her birthday girl! The color scheme was very fitting to their style, and worked so well with the supplies.

Mermaid isn't only a summer theme. Host at the shop, and we will make it work all year around!

Tropical Baby Shower

I love when people have fun with baby shower themes, and this tropical paradise party was an adorable way to celebrate a mama-to-be! The hostesses wanted to celebrate their friend's baby girl with a summery, beautiful shower, and with these colors and party products, I think they did just that.

Our pink tropical party collection we got in this summer was a perfect fit for this shower! I love the settle pink backdrop color, and it was more unexpected that the usual flamingo look that has been popular the last couple years. For the desserts, they mixed in some fun monstera leaf plates. Light pink and dark green is a beautiful combination, and so fun for something girly. On the tables, they laid out tropical leaves and topped them off with floral centerpieces. They also had cute cards made as a little game for the afternoon.

The statement piece of decor for the event, was the large balloon garland. I was excited when they asked us to make one with the mix of pinks. I love doing a range of one color because the deeper colors really pop. Mixing in the faux palm leaves took it to another level and tied it in well with the theme.

Their food spread was gorgeous! How adorable are the umbrellas in the veggie cups? Such an easy way to dress them up. I also love the donuts topped with pineapple crowns (that's what the top of a pineapple is called, yes I had to google lol). On the tables they laid out those adorable cookies for guests to take as a favor. They matched everything so well!

Such a pretty setup to spoil their mama-to-be friend! These hostesses did a beautiful job and you could tell they truly wanted to make it a special event. We were excited to help make their vision a reality! Thank you for hosting at our shop.

Fairy Garden Party with Ballet Wichita

Earlier in the summer, we threw our annual fairy party, and this time we brought in Ballet Wichita for entertainment! We hosted two events that morning, and children were busy with activities and watching beautiful performances by the ballerina fairies. We wanted it to be a fun, magical morning for the guests, and we have so many pretty new supplies that we were able to use.

For the tableware, we did a mix of fairies and florals. We currently have a great selection! The daisy plates are fun to match with the leaf napkins, and the toadstools are just adorable. To add a settle touch of color under the fairy garden containers, we used floral wrapping paper sheets.

Each party guest at our fairy parties received a pair of fairy wings or a gnome hat. For their activity, everyone made a little take home fairy garden. Each garden had a house for the kids to decorate with stickers, and a flower, plus we set out of lots of little accessories. I love that the containers have handles, so they can easily bring their new mini gardens home. Material sources below...

Cara whipped up some white and strawberry cupcakes. We used the fairy cupcake kit at the shop to decorate. Of course both were completely eaten up and enjoyed!

Ballet Wichita did a beautiful job with their performances. It is always so fun to see all the littles in awe of what these ballerinas can do. Each ballerina danced out a lovely fairy dance, and afterwards, they mingled with the little party guests. They are always so wonderful with the children, and allow them to talk about their dance classes, show off their moves, and snap some pictures. Plus, their costumes are always sparkly and gorgeous! For the backdrop, we wanting something fun and bright to add a magical element to the space. Shop girl, Helena, did a beautiful job making paper flowers using the floral wrapping paper as inspiration.

As a fun touch, we brought in a Just Face It! face painter. I truly cannot recommend them enough! They are fast and do incredible work. Every child that walked away had an amazing design! Plus,  little kids absolutely LOVE to get their face painted. It is always a crowd favorite when we are able to bring them in.

It was such a fun event again this year! Fairies seem to be a timeless favorite, and make for a fun party theme. Definitely recommend for a theme, and we are happy to make a magic fairyland come to life for your child's next birthday!
