December babies get to celebrate their birthdays around the holidays when family is around, and you can add sweet holiday touches if you please. My friend Patty did a beautiful job of hosting a first birthday right before Christmas for her daughter, Eloïse. She had a vision and I was so excited to help her bring it to life in our shop party space. Plus, Eloïse and my daughter are good friends, and it's always fun to attend one of the shop parties. Deidre Caswell Photography did a great job capturing the day, so sharing lots of pictures!
Patty wanted winter feel, but in a girly way. After playing with some plates, we decided to go with a mix of the deep green and light pink - such a gorgeous combination. She ordered custom napkins to coordinate and we placed cute bags of cookies on top. Across the tables, we used one of my favorite runners, the gold foil snow dot. Worked perfectly for a winter feel. For party favors I showed her a pack of mixed pink bottle brush trees we had, and she fell in love. Such an adorable party favor that also doubles as decor! She also ordered some cute plush ornaments online and put them in pink bags - little something the kids could play with. The tables were the perfect mix of girly and elegant.
On the adult tables, Patty wanted to work in greenery and flowers. She also framed cute pictures of Eloïse and set them across the tables, as well as a collage of her monthly pictures.
Local catering company, Olive Tree, prepared a delicious mix of food for guests. The giant cupcake was made by September Moon Cupcakery, and made for the sweetest smash cake - who doesn't love a giant cupcake to compliment lots of mini cupcakes? The cookies were made by a family friend, and the soft pink was a perfect color pop on the desert table.
Want to entertain little ones at a party? Add balloons! Eloïse had the time of her life playing with all the balloons. We made a balloon garland for her backdrop - which we lowered before the party for some cute pictures, then raised back up for the party. Patty had us blow up lots of confetti balloons to have scattered up front. Kids had so much fun. I mean look at the joy on the birthday girl's face!
Watching our guests thoroughly enjoy themselves at their party is the best part of my job. Patty had such a beautiful vision, and I was so happy we were able to help her pull it together. Your little one turning the big 1 is hard on a mama, so it's good to distract yourself with a fun party! Miss Eloïse was lucky to celebrate with so many fun family members and friends, and I think she showed them all a good time!
