This past weekend my cousin David married a beautiful princess (at least that's what the kids referred to her as) named Maura. It was a dreamy wedding and my Aunt Mary wanted to make sure she went over the top for her son's special weekend. She offered to do their wedding welcome boxes (it's kind of a specialty of ours!) and with my Uncle Dan, hosted the rehearsal dinner. She did not disappoint.
As guests settled into their hotel rooms, a little pink box embellished with a gold foil heart arrived. The box was filled with thoughtfully curated and crafted items that gave a sneak peek to the upcoming wedding. My Aunt Mary seriously out did herself on these beauties. There were fancy candies, a wedding timeline, water, paper book container filled with chocolates and even cookies that looked like the bride and groom - such a cute and funny touch!
Friday evening, the families and wedding party headed over to the Minnesota Club for a gorgeous rehearsal dinner. My Aunt Mary and Uncle Dan do rehearsal dinners like most people do weddings. With our large families, banquet hall situations are usually our only option. This one was gorgeous and full of character, which isn't always easy to come by.
For the tables, my mom and aunt sourced gold charges to put under the plates for a glamorous touch. Then we placed legal pads that held the dinner menu on every place setting. Made for the perfect pop of color. For the centerpieces, we stacked old books and journals made by my aunt. They were topped off with paper fruit baskets she covered with an adorable quote print that contained a potted plant. The gold votives next to the centerpieces added an elegant touch. The tables looked perfect. In the masculine bar area, we kept things simple and set some of the remaining paper book containers on the tables.
It was such a great weekend with family celebrating the newlyweds! The Lacy Family weddings are always the best and we definitely danced the night away. I loved helping my Aunt Mary setup everything and was happy with the results. It was so fun adding touches of Love of Character to their events. I think all the guests loved them too! Especially those David and Maura cookies...
Lots of Love,
